This ice cave is located on the side
of Mt. Jefferson on the Sphinx trail in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
In fact the trail goes right through it on the way to the ridge that connects
the Northern Presidential Range. It's a place I've been going since I was
a kid and I've had more than a few lunches there to get out of the weather
in the winter. This is one of the only times I've been there with the sun
out as the ridge is usually squeezing the precipitation out of the sky. Image
shot in February with a Nikon F3 on Ektachrome film.
