Nankoweap Canyon is located just
after mile 53 on the river. It's a very popular camping spot for river trips.
The Anasazi people grew crops here and stored food in these granaries 500
feet above the river at the base of a cliff. I took this image of some burnt
Mesquite trees that suggest dancing to me. This image was taken late in the
afternoon and made with a Hasselblad camera on Ektachrome 100 film.
