Matkatamiba Canyon
is just before mile 148 on the Colorado river and the entrance is cut from
Redwall limestone. It's a sensual place the way the creek has made it's way
this way and that through the canyon and in places polished the stone so smoothly.
Above where the canyon opens up are pools to ease aching muscles while eyes
gaze at the walls soaring above. This image made from 1 second time exposure
with a Hasselblad camera on Ektachrome 100 film.
