Havasu Canyon is located just before
mile 157 on the river. The canyon is where the Havsupai Indian Reservation
is and home to several hundred people who have lived there for many generations.
The calcium rich waters of the creek give it a turquoise hue. Ocotillo Cactus
are first seen in the Grand Canyon just up stream from here and can look like
they are on fire when in bloom. This image was taken in April with a Hasselblad
camera on Ektachrome 100 film..
