Grapevine Camp at about river mile
81.5 is the first camp upon entering the Upper Granite Gorge. Composed of
Vishnu Shist and Zoroaster Granite, is a dramatic and imposing place as the
craggy walls surround you and the river fills the Canyon, making camps few
and far between. This view was taken in the late afternoon in April and is
looking up the Canyon with a flow of about 10,000 cfs. Image made with a Hasselblad
camera on Ektachrome 100 film.
